session 1: Ben & Carol

Ben: Looking at Ben before we began he had a definite sway in his back to the point of looking as if he were leaning back. There was no movement in his back with his breath, and limited expansion of his chest. Upon completion of Session 1 the sway of his back is not as pronounced and his torso is on top of him and not leaning back. There is movement now in his back as he takes a breath and more expansion in his chest.

Carol: Looking at Carol before we began her breath seemed labored. As she inhaled her shoulders would rise and fall as if she was shrugging her shoulders. Her chest and back seemed compressed. Upon completion of Session 1 Carol commented that her breath was easy. She visually had more space in her chest cavity and more length in her lower back.

To prepare for our next session Ben and Carol’s homework is to do knee bends. For this they will be standing with their feet parallel, their heel lining up with their second toe; they will bend their knee over their second toe. This will work to begin repatterining the foot and ankle, which will be the focus of Session 2.
